Let me introduce myself. My name is John Pritchett. I have been the minister at SPCC since October 2005. I was born in Independence, Kansas, in 1964.
The following experiences have been valuable in my call to Christian ministry.
In 1970, my family went to Italy, and we lived there for 6 years. I went to an Italian school for 3 years during that time. We returned to the States in 1976. My family was Roman Catholic, but we only went to church on special occasions. As an adult, I didn't go to church at all. In 1983, I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior, and was baptized into Christ.
I received my BA in Biblical Studies in 1994 at Eastern Christian College, Bel Air, MD. From 1994 to 1997, I attended graduate school at Milligan College, TN. Since graduating from Bible college, I filled the pulpit at several small churches, on an as-needed basis. Also, during my college years, I held full-time employment working with persons with disabilities, from 1990 to 1997. From 1998 to 2003, I was called to serve as the part-time minister at 11th Street Christian Church in Aransas Pass, TX. During that time, I also worked as a Child Protective Services investigator for the state of Texas. My first full-time ministry was at Taloga Christian Church in Oklahoma (2004-05). In October 2005, I was called to minister at Sterling Park CC in Sterling, VA. I am currently a bi-vocational minister. My other job during the week is Program Coordinator for ECHO, Inc. in Leesburg. I help people with disabilities find employment in the community.
My wife Lety and I live in Sterling, and we have four children, Joanne, Jeff, Judith, and Joseph. We welcomed the birth of our first child together, Jenevieve in August 2009.
We are here to help you along your spiritual journey. John Pritchett
