Purpose:
The purpose of Sterling Park Christian Church shall be to carry out the program of Christ as expressed in the New Testament; that is, the winning of souls to Christ and providing a local church home for the spiritual development of those souls.

Bible:
The Bible is the inspired word of God. It is our only creed and our authority. We seek to speak where the scriptures speak and remain silent where the scriptures are silent.

Jesus Christ:
Jesus is God's one and only Son (God incarnate), He was crucified on a cross, died and rose from the dead on the Third day. The great confession says, "Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God."

Nature of Man:
Man is, by nature, a sinner (Ephesians 2:3). He is a member of the fallen race. (Romans 5:18).

Salvation:
The Bible teaches we are saved by God's grace through man's faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). This faith changes us (we repent) and brings about obedience and submission to Jesus Christ our Savior. We are then willing to confess Him before men, as well as put ourselves under His subjection and rule.

Baptism:
Baptism is immersion in water of a penitent believer. In the New Testament Church, every believer is commanded to be baptized (Acts 2:38). Baptism symbolizes:

Cleansing and Forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38, 22:16)
New Birth John 3:5)
Circumcision of the heart (Colossians 2:11,12)
Death, burial and resurrection (Romans 6:3,4)
Salvation (1 Peter 3:21)

Lord's Supper:
The lord's Supper is to be observed by repentant, baptized believers, who have examined themselves (1 Corinthians 11 :23-32). We make the Lord's Supper available weekly at Sterling Park Christian Church. We neither invite anyone nor debar anyone from the Lord's table. It is His table and He extends the invitation.

Unity of all believers:
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit -just as you were called to one hope when you were called - one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all who is over all and though all and in all (Ephesians 4:2-6).
